“ Food and service excellent! After Ordering food is served fast. Good is great and portions are generous. ”
“ huge menu full of Chinese comfort food classics at a family friendly price. This is a classic "I don't feel like cooking" standby, feeding the Parkside neighborhood & beyond for over 40 years running. The saucy oysters with tofu and onions was my favorite dish of the night. ”
“ We have been going to Szechuan Taste Restaurant for over 40 years which dates back to the original owner. Same wonderful fresh Chinese food, excellent and friendly service. Large portions and very reasonable prices. We ordered the $38 special which has 5 entrees including soup and then added a chow mein and another fish entree. 7 entrees for $68 total including tax, and enough food to take home for 2 more meals!! No added fees either!! There's your total, add a generous tip for the excellent waitress, and leave with a full stomach and a happy feeling! We love this place!! ”
“ This restaurant has been here forever. I remember dining here back when I was a student. I decided to stop by and order food to go. The cashier lady was nice a friendly and helpful. The dining area is clean and huge. What I like most about this restaurant is no food smell in the dining area. I ordered the steamed chicken, salt n pepper lobster. Salt n pepper fish, and garlic spinach. They were surprisingly were fresh, delicious, and tasty. I recommend this restaurant without any reservations. ”
“ This place is becoming one of our favorite Chinese restaurants for home-style cooking at great prices. We tried the bitter melon pork spareribs rice plate, the beef chow fun noodles (dry version), and the salt and pepper pork ribs as this dish seems to be on almost every table. I must say they do a very good job on this dish as the ribs are nicely fried yet not oily or soggy. The bitter melons were properly done so they were not too bitter yet flavorful. The beef chow fun noodles was also deliciously and generously prepared in terms of portion. The staff were good and efficient since there have always been the same two people running the whole place besides the kitchen staff, but of course if you need to order you need to call on them as they are extremely busy. We come here for the good food at exceptional great prices, not for the decor or the ambiance. ”
“ I've been coming here since I was a little kid and I recently came back with my family. We came here on a Sunday night at 6:30pm and were seated right away for our party of 8. We ordered the $98 set menu for 6 people and ordered a couple more dishes à la carte. My favorite dish here (and usually at other similar places) is the spareribs with sweet orange sauce. It's lightly fried, deliciously sweet and salty and it's not on all the set menus, so if you're looking for another meat dish I'd highly recommend that one. Other dishes I liked under that set menu were the broccoli with seafood and the deep fried sanddab with sauce. It's a no-frills place with typical Chinese food that is pretty good. You order a bunch of different dishes and share them on a lazy susan family style which is the way it should be. ”
“ Since Covid I have come back for take-out from this place. While the busy spot around the Taravel area have many different restaurants that comes and goes, Szechuan Tastes have survived. It is the same authentic, quick, and filling options when you are too lazy to cook. The hole in the wall Is disappearing quick all over SF, I am glad that this is still part of our community and serving yummy food My go to is the stuff tofu, beef chow fun, and spare ribs. ”
“ Man this place brings back childhood memories. I remember being 8 years old and coming here with my brother for the beef chow fun. Got some more today and hoping for more business for them! May God bless this restaurant! ”
“ Great food with unbeatable prices! All the food was delicious and each plate is ~$10, with big enough portions to feed 3 people. The food was absolutely good Chinese food. Not to mention, the service was good as they were all very friendly. I would return here for the green beans and fried rice with taro and lap cheong alone! ”
